Dave Ayre’s Baroque Night

It’s been some months since the last Baroque Night, so we are really delighted that Dave Ayre’s Baroque Band of wonderful,skilled musicians is returning to perform on Friday 9 December at Lansdown Hall, Stroud.
It’s going to be ‘all about that bass’! Come and hear some great 400-year-old music featuring some of the best basslines ever written! Some of the most lovely pieces of Baroque music feature a ‘ground bass’ – a recurring melody in the bass part, providing a structure around which the composers lay different musical textures and ideas. The programme features other delightful pieces and of course the opportunity as always to join in with singing.
