Down in the Valley – Songs of Landscape and Legend
7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Lisa Fitzgibbon & The PowerFolk Quartet
with oration by Adam Horovitz
These songs and stories are inspired by the picturesque Slad Valley, composed by Stroud-based singer/songwriter & music producer Lisa Fitzgibbon. They are informed by the life and work of local writer and poet Laurie Lee, whose writing explored our relationship with nature and the importance of community.
The song cycle was written during lock-down, inspired by local landscapes, legends and characters from Lee’s book Cider with Rosie and this concert commemorates the 25th Anniversary of Laurie Lee’s death.
Lisa will be joined by her band The PowerFolk Quartet, with excerpts of Cider with Rosie read by local poet Adam Horovitz.
Tickets – £14.50, concessions £10.50, children £7.50,
