The Protecting Veil by John Tavener

Stroud Arts Festival is delighted to present a rare opportunity to experience a Devotional Concert of Tavener’s The Protecting Veil performed by the internationally acclaimed duo, cellist Kathryn Price and organist Charles Matthews. This iconic piece is one of the most beautiful spiritual works of the twentieth century and was short-listed for the 1992 Mercury Music Prize.  Portrayed with skill and soulful beauty by exceptional musicians, there will also be an opportunity to meet Kathryn and Charles and find out more about this extraordinary piece of music in an informal    Q & A at the end of the concert.
