Under their conductor Jonathan Trim, Stroud Symphony Orchestra will be performing a wonderful programme of English music with its roots firmly in the local landscape. A mixture of popular favourites such as Holst’s Jupiter from The Planets and movements from the Enigma Variations by Elgar, alongside and complemented by exciting new discoveries including two compositions by the orchestras inspirational conductor, celebrated local composer Jonathan Trim, his beautiful and evocative musical landscape Heart Of The Five Valleys, and the world premiere of his Symphonia Pandemica.
A highlight of this concert will be The Lark Ascending by Vaughan William, voted as the UK’s favourite classical piece and performed by John Pearce, a violinist of “immense technical grasp…passionate commitment to everything he plays.” Venue
