CANCELLED: The Hewletts Opera: The Marriage of Figaro – Relaxed Matinee Performance
2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Sadly, current concerns over Covid issues have led us to reluctantly cancel our 2pm relaxed matinee performance. We are committed to giving access to arts and performances to groups who very often miss out, and aim to include at least one relaxed performance in our annual programme. We are contacting everyone who booked a place to let them know, and to invite them to our next relaxed performance, which we very much hope we’ll be able to schedule for Spring 2022.
Celebrating 75 Years of Stroud Arts Festival: On 11 December, we’ve invited the Hewletts Opera to Stroud, for two performances of The Marriage of Figaro, Mozart’s cherished Opera, a classical masterpiece that has been loved by audiences worldwide since its first performance in Vienna in 1786. The performances will have live orchestration and will be performed in English.
This performance is open to everyone but is especially for those children and adults with autism spectrum conditions, learning difficulties or who have other needs that make it difficult for them to access live music or theatre. It is for those who wish to engage with live music in a less formal environment – getting up and moving around, leaving the room to take a break and re-entering, enjoying the experience in their own way, with families and carers.
Entry is free but booking is required and numbers are limited to 40 so that there’s plenty of room for people to feel comfortable.
