Currently, Stroud Arts Festival provides grants each year to local artists, performers and educators whose projects require sponsorship and involve or are aimed at children and young people. This focus on involving and encouraging young people to experience and engage in the arts is in line with our charitable objectives.
Applicants must present an outline of a performance, show, workshop or exhibition which will be of interest to the public. Applications for grants open in January and June each year, for awards in April and September respectively. The Committee normally holds 2 separate meetings specifically to discuss and award the grants. Go to About Us for the date of the next full Committee meetings and grants application timetable.
Grants are normally given in two instalments – 80% at the beginning of the project and the final 20% at the end. There is no set amount for each grant, however typically they range between £300 and £1,000. Larger sums are occasionally made available to exceptional projects or new ventures which require seed funding.
Past events supported by Stroud Arts Festival have included youth drama shows, youth film projects, poetry slams, art and photographic exhibitions, sculpture installations, music workshops, dance projects – the list goes on!
