Grants

Stroud Arts Festival has a remit to develop and promote the arts in Stroud and surrounding areas. In support of the annual Festival of the Arts, the organisation awards grants to related projects, particularly focusing on music, dance, spoken word performance, artistic works and exhibition.  Applicants must present an outline of a performance, show, workshop or exhibition which will be of interest to the public. Special consideration is given to activities which involve or encourage young people to engage in the arts, in line with our charitable objectives.

Applications for grants open in January and June each year, for awards in April and September respectively.  The Committee normally holds 2 meetings specifically to discuss and award the grants.  Go to About Us for the date of the next full Committee meetings and the grants application timetable.

Grants are normally given in two instalments – 80% at the beginning of the project and the final 20% at the end.  There is no set amount for each grant, however typically they range between £300 and £1,000.  Larger sums are occasionally made available to exceptional projects or new ventures which require seed funding.

Past events supported by Stroud Arts Festival have included youth drama shows, youth film projects, poetry slams, art and photographic exhibitions, sculpture installations, music workshops, dance projects – the list goes on!

Applicants must read Terms and Conditions for Grant Applications before applying to make sure their project is eligible for consideration.
